Planning has begun for the 14th Annual Earth Festival to be held on Saturday, April 21st from 11am – 3pm at Milford Central School. An environmentally-focused, interactive event featuring exhibits, activities, vendors and entertainment, all with a fun, earth-friendly twist, Earth Festival is a popular event that draws over 1000 people from Otsego County and the surrounding area. In order to continue offering this program free for the community, we need your help.
Each year, the Earth Festival committee works diligently to present new and eco-friendly vendors, educational opportunities, and innovative programming. In keeping with this year's Earth Festival theme of recycling, we're introducing a clothing swap meant to keep usable textiles out of our landfills, and to educate the community about New York State's textile recycling program. In addition to the clothing swap, we're once again accepting non-traditional items for recycling such as tennis balls, shoes, Christmas lights and cork; will again offer paper shredding through Empire Recycling's Confidata Service; and will be collecting Styrofoam for recycling.
Other returning activities are the movie night on Friday sponsored Otsego 2000, host of Glimmerglass Film Days; the popular pre-festival bird walk; the EcoArt contest; Spring Garden Day; and a variety of educational activities and opportunities. Additionally, we will be offering a host of speakers and workshops ranging from Yoga and biking to the "how to's" of reducing your trash footprint.
This event continues to be free and open to the public as a result of generous donations from people and business like you and yours. Sponsors will be recognized on Earth Festival promotional materials. We hope you will support Earth Festival, so please complete and return the form on the reverse side, and donate today.
Thank you in advance for your support and participation!
